Pigment

3D Texture Painting

Overview

Paint directly on 3D models with PBR channels, smart materials, and procedural generators.

Pigment revolutionizes 3D texture painting in the browser. Paint across all PBR channels simultaneously — albedo, roughness, metallic, normal, and height. Use procedural generators for realistic wear and dirt, or paint manually with tablet pressure sensitivity. Export directly to Unity, Unreal, or Blender with one click.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I paint on the model or on a flat texture?

On the model, in 3D, across every PBR channel at once — base colour, roughness, metallic, normal and height. Three-axis symmetry means a symmetrical object is painted once.

What texture resolution can I output?

Up to 8K per channel. Higher resolutions cost memory in the tab, so a full 8K set on a large model asks for a machine with headroom.

Does it export for Unity and Unreal?

Yes — presets write the channel packing each engine expects rather than leaving you to rename and recombine maps by hand. Plain PBR sets for any other engine are also available.

Can I bake curvature and ambient occlusion?

Both, from the model itself. Baked maps then drive smart masks, so wear and dirt land in the crevices without being painted stroke by stroke.

Are the layers like an image editor's?

Yes — a layer stack with blend modes, masks and smart materials. A material change stays editable instead of being flattened into the texture the moment you apply it.

Where does the model come from?

From Sculpt and Retopo inside aukimi, or imported as OBJ, FBX or glTF/GLB. A model painted here goes to Render or Engine without leaving the project.
