Overview

Create stunning 2D animations with timeline, tweening, bone rigging and export to multiple formats.

Composer is your complete 2D animation studio. Create character animations with bone rigging, motion graphics with tweening, or frame-by-frame animations. The powerful timeline with audio sync lets you create perfectly timed sequences. Export to Lottie for web, GIF for social media, or MP4 for video projects.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is Composer different from Animate?

Composer is motion design: shapes, text and artwork on a timeline, with tweening, morphing and audio sync. Animate is the character tool, with bone rigs and 3D on the same timeline. If you are animating a logo or an explainer, Composer is the one.

What can I export?

Lottie for web and app animation, GIF and MP4 for a flat render, and sprite sheets when the animation is destined for a game.

Can I sync animation to a soundtrack?

Yes — audio sits on the timeline and you can key against it. A track composed in Pulse is available in the same project, without exporting a WAV first.

Is there rigging, or only keyframes?

There is a bone rigging system for cut-out style animation, plus shape morphing for the cases where one drawing has to become another. Onion skinning covers the frame-by-frame work.

Does Lottie export keep everything?

Lottie carries vectors, transforms and easing. Effects that have no Lottie equivalent are rasterised or dropped, and the export tells you which — a silent difference between preview and player is worse than a warning.

Where does the artwork come from?

Vectra for vector, Inkwell for painted artwork, Pixel for sprites — all in the same project. Imported SVG and PNG work equally well.
